Descripción
Summary:A new species of Pinguicula belonging to the section Orcheosanthus is described. The plants proceed from Arroyo Tolimán and Río Moctezuma canyons in Hidalgo and Querétaro states. It resembles Pinguicula colimensis McVaugh et Mickel and Pinguicula cyclosecta Casper in its broadly obovate to suborbiculate corolla lobes, but differs from the first one in its "summer leaves" with slightly involute margin and the spathulate or oblong-spathulate "winter leaves"; it can be diferentiated from the second by its obovate-spathulate to suborbiculate-spathulate "summer leaves", gradually tapering and densely ciliate at the base with large multicellular trichomes more than 5 mm long. It also differs in its habitat and ecological preferences.
