Summary:Bursera macvaughiana sp. nov., a plant known from the southern part of the state of Jalisco and adjacent areas of the state of Colima, is described and illustrated. The species belongs to the section Bullockia and seems to be related to B. glabrifolia (H.B.K.) Engl., but differs in its leaves which are more pubescent and possess a larger number of leaflets, in its longer inflorescences, as well as in its flowers with the calyx divided almost to the base and its smaller fruits.
