Miêu tả
Tóm tắt:Knowledge on Mexican Papilionidae and Pieridae was evaluated through the analysis of 39,300 distributional data, which correspond to 127 species, 499 quadrats, and 2325 localities, on a grid of 0.5 blocks to assess distributional information on these butterflies. We found that the Coniferous-Oak Forest is the richest species vegetational type, although the Cloud Forest is the most important area collected. The more abundantly collected species have wide distributional ranges. Some well known endemic species are Baronia brevicornis and some species of the genera Enantia, Catasticta and Lieinix. The tropical areas of the states of Mexico, Veracruz, Chiapas, Oaxaca, and Guerrero were the best collected areas in Mexico.
