Sumario:In the last years the study of soil biodiversity has been emphazised. In México, however, the few papers published on this subject have been focused to several aspects other than soil functíon. As a result of several meetings hold during last years, it was possible to join several soil biologists that agreed to publish a synthesls of the current situation of some soil organisms in a special number of this journal.
