Čoahkkáigeassu: | The allocation of ecosystem services has been a challenge for the market, given their behavior as public goods. The Protected Natural Area "Ejidos de Xochimilco and San Gregorio Atlapulco" houses an area of chinampas that provides sustenance and ecosystem services to the inhabitants of Mexico City. The objective of this research was to identify and prioritize Ecosystem Services based on the hierarchy of four groups of users to determine possible patterns or differences. A survey with 17 ecosystem services was applied to 380 users where they were asked to select three in order of priority. The level of importance assigned to each service was estimated using weighted averages, and non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis and Games-Howell tests were used to determine the differences between groups. Food production, storage and retention of water and cultural services were selected as the most important, the first two being the ones that obtained a higher weighted value. The difference in means showed that there are differences between the groups, and the post-hoc analysis reveals that the group of producers is the one that presents the greatest contrasts with respect to the rest of the groups, mainly in terms of provisioning services, denoting the value that the regional population gives to agriculture. For this reason, the authorities must consider the participation of chinampas’ producers in the design of public policies and management of local natural resources.
