The objective of this study was to generate allometric models to estimate aboveground biomass of Pinus oaxacana and mixture of associated species as a response to silvicultural regimes. In Ixtlán, Oaxaca, Mexico, during 2014, 12 experimental units of 400 m2 were established in stands under different silvicultural regimes: 1) without treatment (conservation), 2) seed trees with 10-year regeneration, 3) seed trees with 15-year regeneration, 4) clearcutting with 7-year regeneration. With data obtained through destructive sampling (n = 69 individuals), allometric biomass models from the partial and total compartments of P. oaxacana, shrubby, in the forest floor and undergrowth were adjusted. In experiment under completely randomized design data were solved by analysis of variance, means test (Duncan, 0.05), cluster analysis and regression models. Allometric models that estimate between 88% and 98% of the aboveground biomass of Pinus oaxacana trees and shrubs and bush associated species use variables with easy measurement. The silvicultural regimes applied affected (p ≤ 0.05) aboveground biomass accumulated in specific and whole compartments of P. oaxacana, also the biomass in the forest floor, undergrowth and total aboveground. Likewise, stands under seed trees management (101.3 t ha-1) have the same aboveground total biomass than the conservation forest (125.74 t ha-1).

Cuantificar la biomasa forestal aérea del bosque es importante para evaluar la productividad y el efecto de sistemas silvícolas aplicados. El objetivo fue generar modelos alométricos para estimar biomasa aérea de Pinus oaxacana y mezcla de especies asociadas en respuesta a tratamientos silvícolas. En Ixtlán, Oaxaca, México, durante 2014 se establecieron 12 unidades experimentales de 400 m2 en rodales sometidos a diferente tratamiento silvícola: 1) sin tratamiento (conservación), 2) árboles padres, con regeneración de 10 años de edad, 3) árboles padres con regeneración de 15 años de edad, 4) matarrasa, con regeneración de siete años de edad. Con datos obtenidos mediante muestreo destructivo (n = 69 individuos) se construyeron modelos alométricos de biomasa de los compartimentos parciales y totales de P. oaxacana, arbustivo, en el piso forestal y sotobosque. En experimento mediante diseño completamente aleatorizado, los datos se sometieron a análisis de varianza, prueba de separación de medias (Duncan, 0.05), análisis clúster y modelos de regresión. Los modelos que utilizan variables de fácil medición, estiman entre 88% y 98% de la biomasa aérea de individuos de porte arbóreo y arbustivo de P. oaxacana y especies arbustivas asociadas. Los tratamientos silvícolas aplicados afectaron (p ≤ 0.05) la biomasa aérea acumulada en los compartimentos específicos y totales de P. oaxacana, así como la biomasa contenida en el piso forestal, sotobosque y total aéreo. Sin embargo, los rodales manejados bajo tratamientos de árboles padres (101.3 t ha-1) igualan la productividad de biomasa total aérea que el bosque bajo conservación (125.74 t ha-1).
