The perceptions of farmers regarding vulnerability to climate change, water use and the possibility of adaptation were also analyzed. The main problems in the region arising from the analysis are drought and the depletion of hydrological resources, for which the aquifers are the only source of supply. The importance of direct sources of information and interaction with local stakeholders for creating diagnostics, aligning assistance and agendas of rural development is discussed. |

Las interacciones del clima y los recursos naturales con el deterioro ambiental y social son analizadas en este estudio de la región semiárida del Valle de Galeana en el noreste de México. La historia de desarrollo de la región fue construida con base en entrevistas y encuestas. Las percepciones de los campesinos respecto a la vulnerabilidad al cambio climático, al uso del agua y a la posibilidad de adaptación también fueron analizadas. El problema de mayor impacto en la región es la sequía y la pérdida de recursos hídricos cuya única fuente de abastecimiento es el agua del acuífero. Se discute la importancia de las fuentes directas de información y la interacción con actores locales en la construcción de diagnósticos, alineación de apoyos y agendas de desarrollo rural.
