Durante el proceso de revisión de la familia Portulacaceae para la Flora del Bajío y de Regiones Adyacentes, se determinó que algunas especies ubicadas en el género Talinum requerían ser transferidas a Phemeranthus, por lo que en este trabajo se proponen las siguientes combinaciones nuevas: P. mexicanus (Hemsley) G. Ocampo, P. multiflorus (Rose & Standley) G. Ocampo y P. napiformis (DC.) G. Ocampo. Adicionalmente, se amplía la descripción hecha para P. mexicanus.
