Jones, but can be distinguished in being a much more pubescent plant, in its stramineous phyllaries and in the inflorescences with narrower leaves. |

Se describen como especies nuevas: Geniostemon rotundifolius (Gentianaceae) del estado de Querétaro, Stachys turneri (Labiatae) del estado de Guanajuato y Vernonia solorzanoana (Compositae, tribu Vernonieae) del estado de Michoacán. La primera difiere de las demás especies conocidas de Geniostemon en sus hojas suborbiculares, pecioladas y trinervadas, así como en el color morado-café de sus anteras. La segunda descuella por la presencia de la combinación de los siguientes caracteres: tallos y envés de las hojas lanoso-pubescentes, corola morada con el tubo de aproximadamente 1 cm de largo y ovario pubescente en el ápice. La tercera se asemeja a Vernonia baadii (McVaugh) S. B. Jones, pero se distingue en ser planta mucho más pubescente, en sus involucros de color paja y en las hojas de la inflorescencia más angostas.
