Riassunto: | Based on studies of herbarium collections and fieldwork in Mexico, two new species are described: Jatropha pereziae from Balsas River Basin in the state of Michoacan and J. dehganii which occurs on the slopes of Río Armería in the state of Jalisco. Both species belong to the subsection Loureira (Cav.) Muell. Arg. of the section Loureira (Cav.) Muell. Arg., on account of their yellow, exfolianting cortex, glandular stipules, reduced pistillate inflorescence (1-3 flowers), urceollate or urceollate-tubular and red or pink corolla and biseriate-monadelphous stamens. |
