Sumari:A teratological phenomenon found in a plant of Atriplex elegans subsp. thornberi (M. E. Jones) W. L. Wagner, from a wild population in Sonora, México, is described. Its flattened and expanded stem from the base to the terminal portion, its terminal bifurcation and coiled appearance are indicative of a fasciation. The phenomenon affects also the inflorescence.
