Se describe Styrax argenteus var. parvifolius como variedad nueva que habita en el NE del estado de Querétaro, México. Se encuentra en el bosque de encino, en dos localidades de ese estado, en áreas de extensión relativamente limitada. Se diferencia de las otras variedades conocidas en poseer hojas más pequeñas, con la pubescencia en el envés de tricomas estrellados densamente sobrepuestos, en la flor que es de mayor tamaño y en la inflorescencia cimosa.
