Zusammenfassung:A survey of the vegetation of a sierra of volcanic origin in notheastern Mexico has been undertaken. The mountain range is isolated in the Gulf Coastal Plain in Tamaulipas. Five vegetation types are described according to their ecological characteristics and physiognomy: piedmont scrub, low oak scrub, grassland, oak forest and montane humid forest. The tropical element is the most important in the flora. A plant list is included.
