En la presente nota se pretende llamar la atención sobre el notable incremento que, en lo que va del siglo, está experimentando la flora silvestre de México en cuanto a plantas introducidas de origen africano, entre las que predominan ampliamente representantes de la familia Gramineae. En su mayoría se comportan como ruderales y por lo general son elementos escapados de cultivo. Se incluye una lista de las especies adventicias más importantes de esta procedencia.
