Acourtia mectezumae sp. n. seems to be related to A. scapose (Blake) Turner and A. umbratilis (Rob. & Greenm.) Turner. Acourtia elizabethiae sp. n. shows more resemblance to A. discolor Rzedowski and to A. nudicaulis (A. Gray) Turner.
