Samenvatting:A new species, Malaxis greenwoodiana Salazar and Soto Arenas, with flowers unusually large for the genus, is described. It is similar to M. lepanthiflora (Schltr.) It is known only from an area in the northern of Chiapas known as the Selva Negra.
