Given the imperfect stage of taxonomic knowledge of the genus, it is difficult to define their relationships with any of the remaining groups of Perymenium. Se describen e ilustran Perymenium arriagae y P. sotoarenasii, especies nuevas de la parte central de Querétaro. Ambas corresponden a arbustos de ambiente y porte xerófilo, que se conocen de escasas colectas, no obstante que el área en cuestión ha sido bastante bien explorada. Al parecer están estrechamente emparentadas entre sí, aunque presentan notorias diferencias en el margen y en la base de las hojas, así como en el tamaño del involucro y en la coloración de las páleas. Dado el imperfecto estado de conocimiento de la taxonomía del género, no se facilita la definición de su vinculación con alguno de los restantes grupos de Perymenium.
