Gaia: | Background and Aims: In Jalisco, several mycobiotic studies have been carried out in different municipalities, including San Sebastian del Oeste located in the Southwest Coast region of this entity, and which is still being explored due to the high diversity of species fungal so far registered. The aim of this paper is to update fungus diversity knowledge for the study area.Methods: Fifteen exploration trips were realized during the rainy season from June to September for the last 10 years (2007-2017). Additionally, the fungal collection of the herbarium IBUG was revised. The specimens were studied following the traditional mycological techniques, and using specialized literature for their determination.Key results: Three hundred eleven taxa are included in 165 genera and 66 fungi families. Of the total number of species, 285 are Basidiomycota and 26 Ascomycota. This effort reports 29 new records for the area. The richest genera within the Basidiomycota are Amanita (23), Trametes (11), Ganoderma, Lactarius, Pluteus, Scleroderma and Stereum (6); in Ascomycota Helvella (5) and Xylaria (4).Conclusions: It is considered necessary to continue mycological explorations, mainly in those sites that have not yet been explored, which will allow to know a greater number of fungal species, and realize an analysis of the possible endemic species or those that are at risk, as well as document its current distribution in vegetation types present in San Sebastián del Oeste and western Mexico.
