Sumario:Specimens of mantises (Insecta: Mantodea) from two Nuevo Leon entomological collections were analyzed, and coupled with recent literature records, the presence of eight species grouped in seven genera and three families was revealed. Oligonyx bicornis is recorded for the first time in the state. The record of Pseudomusonia lineativentris is questioned for Nuevo Leon and Mexico. An identification key is proposed for the species registered for the state, as well as those with potential distribution in it.
