| Resumo: | The present paper is a checklist of the Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl volcanoes herpetofauna, delimited by the 2,500 m of altitude and the 19° 24‘ north latitude in the States of México, Morelos and Puebla. Was examinated 640 amphibians and reptiles, depositated in the Herpetological Collection of the Escuela Nacional de Ciencias Biológicas. Instituto Politécnico Nacional, and also registered the species that the bibliography report. Data of the distribution, morphological variation, and life history are given in each species. Was founded 22 total taxa: 9 amphibians and 13 reptiles, distributed in 77 localities. Posibles relationships beetwen herpetofauna with altitude and vegetation was established, and finally was compared the local herpetofauna whit the others frve volcanoes in the Neovolcanic Transversal Belt.
