P. peacocki resembles to P. carrllhca in the proportion of antennomeres and in the shape of the lígula; and to P. ferraba in the type of gills; the former of these three species is the largest, and the last one the smallest, The naiads of Philogenia inhabit torrential streams running throughout the tropical rain forest; they usually cling under the rocks.
