Shrnutí:The naiads of the three Costa Rican species of the genus Philogenia are described and illustrated, providing a key for their separation. Of the 35 species known to date, oniy the naiad of P. cassandra, frorn Venezuela, has Peen described. P. peacocki resembles to P. carrllhca in the proportion of antennomeres and in the shape of the lígula; and to P. ferraba in the type of gills; the former of these three species is the largest, and the last one the smallest, The naiads of Philogenia inhabit torrential streams running throughout the tropical rain forest; they usually cling under the rocks.
