Key Words: Coleóptera, Scolytidae, Dendroctonus adjunctus, Bark Beetle, alimentary canal, histology En el presente trabajo se describe la anatomía e histología del sistema digestivo de Dendroctonus adjunctus Blandford (Coleóptera: Scolytidae). Los resultados muestran que el sistema digestivo de la especie presenta características no encontradas en otros escoKtidos como son: la presencia de cerdas esofágicas, la división del buche en dos zonas, la división del proventrículo en tres zonas debido a la estructura del armario, los diferentes aspectos celulares encontrados desde la válvula ventricular hasta el mesenterón, la relación estrecha que guardan los túbulos de Malphigi con el mesenterón, el cuerpo graso e íleon, y la posición de los ciegos gástricos al final del mesenterón.
