El material con el que Bates (1882) describió Geocharidius integripennis se encuentra repartido entre los museos de París y Londres. El estudio separado de este material por diferentes autores (Jeannel 1936, 1963; Vigna Taglianti 1973; Erwin 1982) conllevó a una serie de errores que ahora se subsanan. Se concluye que Geocharidius tagliantii Erwin, 1982 es una nueva sinónima de G. integripennis. Se describen los genitales femeninos de esta especie y se completa el trabajo con el establecimiento de la serie típica válida.
